I think ill be peicing together a k04 kit.
K04: $725
5bar FPR: $80
Gasket/install kit: $40
GIAC E05 upgrade (injectors/fmic not req.) from local GIAC tuner: $400(?)
Milltek cat back: $800

I think thats it... $2000-ish doesnt seem too bad.. Ill probably get a tip chip while im at it...

Probably wont go with the J31 file since im tip and 30 extra pounds of tq might be pushing it..
I think the E05 file provides 235hp/265tq. Not a hell of a lot more for $2k+ but it will be fun and act like a new animal i suppose. Maybe eventually ill get the J31 file with injectors and fmic.

 

Would those BT's above the K04 fit in a b5?

Here is the reply i got from the P0pshop:

Hello Jason....Thank you for your interest. The turbos we sell on our
website are KKK K03's and are all original cores from Audi's/VW's. These
turbos are all reman'd and upgraded here at our shop by us. All of these
turbos get the heavy duty K04 bearing system. If you choose the K04
upgrade you will get the larger K04 compressor wheel, and the hosing will
be machined to fit the contour of the new larger wheel. The warranty for
either the stock turbo or the upgraded unit is 12 months/50,000 miles. The
rebuild includes a complete disassembly of the turbo, all of the hard
parts are then inspected and they are either replaced, repaired or reused
depending on their condition. Next, all of the parts are cleaned and then
re-inspected. the final step in the process is the assembly of the turbo
with all new heavy duty bearings, seals, o-rings etc. We hope this has
helped, let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you

 

I am thinking to get welding machine. We could weld pipe for your intercooler. you can buy core from ebay like $100.

brand new k04s are about $750 right, how much was this rebuilt k04 ?

 

You can get a new K04 for $725 shipped from that site i posted somewhere in this thread. The one the Popshop sells is $575 for the K04 I think. But its just a k03 remanufactured to k04 spec with k04/internals. I think the extra $150 might be worth it for a brand new K04 though.
