Default Upgrading wheels

I currently haveOEM 16's on my '02 A4 3.0 Quattro and wanted to upgrade to 19's. I was told by a machanic that would not be good because it would put to much pressure on the bearings and cause my engine to work excessively hard to acheive speed. What's the pro's and con's of going to 19's from OEM 16's. I'm looking at a set of Gianelle rims. Thanks for any useful info. By the way, Yes I do have a LEAD foot from living and driving in Europe for 12 years.

as long as you dont get some crazy as heavy rims you should be fine, jsut check the weight anything under 20lbs a rim and you wont cause any damage.

i think your gonna be hard pressed to find a set of 19"'s under 20lbs

if you are really worried about it. get a set of 18's

The weight has nothing to do with what the mechanic was talking about. As long as the offset is close to stock and not excessive and the over all diameter of the tire remains the same nothing affects the final drive ratio and thats what you want to keep the same.

Yeah, good luck finding 19's under 20lbs...Neuspeed has some good lookin 19's on their website. You could go B7 RS4 reps, or any other route. Personally, I'd go 18, but thats just me.

Pros: Looks (best achieved with suspension as well), baller factor
Cons: Sacrifice ride quality, slower car, probably going to rub (depending on width), price (+tires).

there is no pro to having 19s besides its might look better dependin the on the wheel design
wit 19s u will become slower becasue of the size and the weight
but alot of audis are running 19s and they have no problem at all besides rubbing, that onlyy happens if u get the wrong offset or go too wide the the wheels and tires
