Default upper control arms

Hey hows it goin guys....i gotta 01 a4 quattro and i need upper control arms....AGAIN!!!!!!!I replaced them about 18 months ago and aprx 20000 miles and they are gone again. Am i doing something causing them to break faster? Or is there possibly an aftermarket brand that makes them better than the OEM which is what i used?Any help is greatly appreciated thanks!

Default RE: upper control arms

There is a spec when you replace the upper link. For instance if you didn't put the link exactly where it was before you could have put too much load on the bushing and tore it up.
When you have the stut out of the car you want to set the link at a 35-45 degree angle from the strut tower. If you set it too close to the tower you would have to put severe tension on the bushing to push it down to engage the steering arm and install the pinch bolt. That can result in the bushing wearing out 2-3 times faster. Setting the bushing too low will result in not enough tension and loose steering can result.
