I'm planning on buying 2001 -Audi A4 - 1.8. I checked the car by test driving, and it looked alright. What other thing i might need to be aware of before buying this car?

The car has 115k miles.
$6500

Is the price ok for this car?

My friend was telling me that its really hard to maintain audi, is that true?

 

dude, call up an "Auto MD" company I'm sure there's one nearby if you live in a city. For like $150 they'll come and give you like a 300 item checklist covering just about everything on the car. Probably the best money I've ever spent....

Just buying a car without knowing anything about it is risky business...has it had the timing belt done? If not you'll be throwing down almost a grand right away...if you don't get it replaced and it breaks you'll be in waay over your head. If the audi has been taken care of its entire life it should be fine at 115k.

Check into all the maintenance records to make sure it has been taken care of and get a carfax.

 

i'll get the carfax report. Also, i'll check with some mechandic to make sure if the car is well taken care of.

 

i was checking regarding AutoMD, but there is none where i live. I live in corona, ca.

also, do you think its safe to show it to local mechanic who knows about audi's?

 

anyone who actually knows about them would be ok just make sure they really do know what they are talking about get a history from them

 

If you have any family of your's that is good with cars and is brutally honest about everything bring em along... I prob would've brought my mother to look at my car when I bought it if she knew anything about cars...

Take it to a mechanic who works on audis and VW as his specialty and have him check it over.
