Default Using lots of oil, 1.8t

Ah realised you guys never got the 1.8t in the A6 so i'll post it in here.

Posting this for my dad, he uses a 1.8t A6 '98 for work and it's just had a turbo replaced, before that and now it's using about a litre of oil every 1000 miles. Some people have said it's normal for them to use oil but i find this hard to believe as my A4 1.8t hasn't used any atall in 6k miles.

Anybody have any ideas on where it could be going? It doesn't smoke unless you accelerate very hard and it's not leaking underneath, he runs 10w40 semi in it.

wow, that is a lot of oil to not have smoke/dripping. Has he searched the entire engine for abnormal oil on the outside?

Yeah i've had a look about, it seems to just be cleanly burning it all, i should imagine the cat is fooked by now but it passed emissions last MOT. Can't work out where it'd be leaking in?!
