VDO Boost gauge (antibuzz)
Hey guys,
First off thanks alot onepoint8tee for the headsup on ECStuning. Saved me $60 from the shop that was bringing it an, and should be helluvalot quicker too!
Whats the deal with this antibuzz fitting? I just noticed it and am kicking myself that maybe i shouldve ordered it but my **** has been shipped already so how loud is the sound?
Does it come from the gauge inside the cabin or from the plumbing somewhere down the line?
Thanks guys!

The buzzing comes from the gauge and its noticeabe at first and you will then forget aboutit. If you dont have it, dont worry since not all of them do it. If it does, people have put a filter inline with the gauge to solve the problem also.
i bought the same guage from ECS but i bought the install kit and guage pod. it came with the anti-buzz fitting. i highly recommend it for your own sanity while driving. very annoying sound imo.
you can buy an in-line anti buzz fitting from pepboys for around $2. Then you don't have to pay for shipping. It's in the fittings section near the back of the store usually. I have one in my car and it works fine.
the nylon tubing and T are crap...I had rediculous amounts of buzzing, so, I ordered a no, buzz T from ecs...I couldn't handle the wait for shipping (the buzz really aggrivated me, I have no tolerance for annoyin little noises) so, I made a no-buzz setup w/silicone and a new T....well, the silicone expanded a bit and I didn't trust its accuracy...so then I switched over to copper tubing and a brass T...no buzzing and will prolly last longer than the car...
gl!...i'd say install and see for yourself...

I just wanted to put my two cents in on this subject. I just fixed this problem with my VDO mechanical boost gauge last night. I went to a fish aquarium store. I purchased a two way valve. It's a little plastic valve. I got two for two dollars for 1/4" tubing. I installed it under the dash because I didn't know how it would fare under the hood. Plus it is easier to adjust. So after installing it inline I adjusted it to full open with no restriction. The gauge rattled of course. While driving with the lower dash panel removed I had access to the valve. I would do an eighth of a turn and try to create the noise. I kept turning the valve closed until I could not hear the rattle any more. Now the gauge is silent and responsive, or a compromise between the two. Cabin noises are so irritating!
