Default Warranty Question

I just got me an 06' A4 2.0T this past monday and I got it from the dealership with 100,000 mile warranty bumper to bumper with maintenance included up to 75,000 miles. Just out of curiosity, is there anything performance-wise that I can get away with w/out having them give me any trouble about my warranty status?

Default RE: Warranty Question

That's probably gonna vary dealer to dealer - some are cooler than others about parts. Best thing to do though, is just talk to the mechanic when you take it in the first time, and tell him you're gonna request him every time (never a bad idea anyhow to have just one guy working on your car - he's more likely to know what he may have done in the past). Ask him what he would report to the dealer as far as warranty-voiding parts and what he'd ignore. Ask him if you swapped the DV or put in a K&N filter, if he's gonna void your warranty for things like that, but ask BEFORE you do them. Just tell him "I was thinking about doing ________ to my car - is that gonna be a problem with the warranty?" It doesn't hurt to find out ahead of time - if it's gonna screw up your warranty, either suck it up and mod at your own expense for repairs, or don't mod it and enjoy the warranty, or do things and de-mod before going back to the dealer for warranty work (ie, remove the air intake and put the OEM airbox back in, stuff like that).
