waterpump belt
Im sure im an idiot but i cant seem to get the new belt on the water-ppump/power steering setup. its a 98 1.8 and the accessory belts were not replaced when the timing belt was. The ribbed belts came off in a minute, but this v belt was a different story. I couldnt find a tensioner or a piviot point so i loosened the PS pulley and slid the old belt off. Now im screwed cus the new one wont go, my knucks are bleedin, and i have no ride to work. someone help
yes its the right belt. the old on was cracked and loose and still didnt come off easy. I just cant find a logical loosening point. someone has had to have done this before. i need pointers bad. im stuck.
There are 3 bolts on the front of the pulley. They pulley is actually 2 pieces held together by the bolts.
When I replaced mine, i had to put the rear plate on, then the belt, then the outer plate, thenput the 3 bolts back in and tighten it down.
Hope this helps. There is no tensioner, you have to remove the bolts on the water-pump pulley.
