Weird prob.
OK, so I'll be honest, got lazy and didnt do a great search on the subject. Last night the problem started. You know that symbol that comes up when your filling with gas.... the car with the little pump on it... well last night when driving it came up for a bit. I turned off the little screen by hitting that little button twice but it kept popping up. I went around and fididled with the gas cap thinking it was just off or loose or something. But still coming up. Anyone ever have this problem or have anything to add to the subject??
No. On my model at least..2004, when your filling at the station, on the trip computer a huge outline of the car comes up and a little flashing pump where the tank is located comes up. Randomly while in driving itll come up and I dont know what to do bout it. Next time your filling up look at that little screen between the tach and speedo. Wierd stuff.
leave it alone it will self reset...
new OBD II specs require Evaporative Emmisions to be monitored for 12 hrs after the car is shut down!!!
So recap....
if the gas cap was loose, then after you retightened it you should allow 1 to 3 hrs for it to build vacum.
then allow it to sit overnight so the monitor will self reset.
if problem persist then you should find a technician that has a good smoke machine and has a lot of knowledge in evaporative emmisions.
that might be costly but it all depends how badly you want that light off.
also if your state is strict on emmisions then the car will not be emission ready since the OBD readiness will not be set !

Yea... I re-tightened the cap last night when I pulled in around 4. Then at about 1 this afternoon it was still randomly going off. Just one of those annoying random things. Might have to take it to a techor maybe even the steelership. We'll see what happens over the next couple days. Thanks for the input.
