I drive a 97 A4 quattro 2.8. Lately, I have had problems with the car starting when the engine is already warm. I posted this problem a few weeks ago and someone came back and said it was the engine coolant sensor. So I went out and got the part and now I am unsure if the part store gave me the correct sensor.

Before I rip out half the engine to replace the sensor, could someone please advise if this is indeed the correct part.

Did they maybe give me the sensor for a 1.8 engine?

I already read this article and the sensor he uses looks similar to my part but not exactly the same. It looks like I will have to go back and exchange it. I am just curious of what part they sold me.

 

well pull yours out and write down the part number before you go back.
