Well they are liable if the spot has been complained about many times. And this spot has. Residents have complained about it for a long time apparently, and nothing has been done, so they are liable. I hope they pay for it, bc I dont really want to have to go through my ins....

ORIGINAL: quattrosedan

I was down visiting my cousin and we are just having fun cruising down one of the dirt roads down there doing, and we come to this hill and when I come over it, there is a hole the size of my car that cant be avoided. My front end basically digs into it and then launches the car. We probably got 4 ft of air......but now the car is not fairing so well. I am in the process of sueing the county that this happened at, bc apparently that hole has been complained about many times, and nothing has been done about it. here is what I know is wrong. Cracked oil pan, bent/broken ac lines and ps lines, front bumper, fenderwell, cracked radiator, cracked ac condensor, broken evaporator, crushed fmic, not to mention anything else that is wrong.

Where is the hill?

4ft of air is an awful lot for 35mph. I am sure it looks worse in person, but that sounds like a lot of damage for 35mph going over that thing.

How can you sue if you are driving around on some back road? This isn't a huge hole in the middle of the highway, this looks like a dirt road through the middle of the woods out in bubblef*ck. How many miles is it from this hole to the nearest house?

DUDE! that sucks monkey nuts.

Good luck bro I hope the county buys you a whole new b7 A4 turbo and kisses your feet.

I live down a dirt round in Tucson AZ one of my neighbors that moved in a few months ago had a similar incident after our monsoon season this year July-August. The water had washed a ditch into the ground about 2-3feet deep like it does every year. swallowed her whole car almost (Mid 90's Merc).

This wash-out has been happening since I moved in and likely before as well. The city is ussually pretty good about getting signs up though this year it was completely ignored. I don't know how much it cost the city to pay her off or if her insurance bought it, but now she's driving a brand new Merc CLK.

I almost found that ditch the hard way myself a few years back in my Integra. Damn near craped my pants when I came up on it. I now know to go the long way around during the storm season.

there is a little dirt road back near my house. I live in the middle of nowhere btw. Well what used to be the road was now about a 15 ft wide creek. You can imagine my surprise when i rolled up upon that(slowly fortunantly). Pretty much the only damage was damn near sh*tting myself when i almost sank my car.
