Hi, I have a 2004 1.8t FWD automatic A4. There is something weird about drive... although i am new to audi so i dont know. While in automatic, when the gas is put down fairly hard.... my tacometer seems to stay in 1 gear slowly rising , and i cannot feel the car shift at all.... it is very weird. Any clue what it could be?

 

Tranny limp mode. Are all your gears on the dash lit up in red at the same time (P R N D 4 3 2) ???

Yes i believe they are all lit up like that

 

You need to check the TCU for fault codes. That can only be done with vag com or dealer diagnostic eq.

Could be. But if it looks like this then its limp mode and he only has 4th gear:

Thats from a B5^ But its the same concept with all the gears being lit up like that. Normally there is only a red box around the specific gear your in, not all of them like that^

 

no it dosn't look like that. just 1 of them is lit like that.... whats CVT?
