Whats a SNUB????
ok ok, i can understand your confusion. technically, the snub mount isn't a 'mount' at all (in that it doesn't secure the engine to anything)...there is a 3" rod sticking out the front of your engine. the snub 'mount' is a polyurethane bushing that goes on that rod. as sandman said, it keeps engine movement down.
hahaha SANDMAN and BENTFRAME are the best people in the world right now!!!!!!!!!!!! You finally explained it to me!!! ... Okay thanks a lot. now i understand what a snub is.. now i understand that its the same for the 1.8T and the 3.0L ........... Does it increase proformance? is it worth getting and installing myself or is it too complicated? I totally tore down and re-built a four-wheeler last year untill i got my car. Im just wondering how hard it is lifting up the engine....
you don't touch the engine, you take the front bumper off. and that only two bolts. as for the preformace aspect, you can deff tell that it there. it reduces the driveline slack. so the power gets to the ground faster.
buffer makes more sense. mount doesn't really make any sense.
yfz, they are definitely worth it. i don't know if i'd pay the 50 bucks for the apr mount when the greedspeed one does the same thing for 13...installation takes a little time. you have to put the car in what's called the 'service position'. this means removing the front bumper and sliding the front end forward about 8", away from the engine. getting off the old mount is very easy because it's a soft rubber. mine ripped off as i was tugging on it...getting the new mount on is tricky. the secret is to stick that bad boy in a microwave for 10-15 seconds, run it out to your car while it's warm and soft, and pop it on. then put it all back together and enjoy
