so i vagged my car last night after it all of a sudden bumped down to 4psi out of the blue. it brang up the code that said maf dirty or damaged. and we looked at some type of chart wich the maf was reading zero at idle and at rev. so im going to try to clean it first. ive heard to clean it u spray brake cleaner or electronic cleaner on it and let it dry. were exactly d you spray it. and then if this doesnt not fix my problem im gonna have to buy aa new maf right?

 

yeah, you might just wanna buy a new one anyway. but you have to take the maf out of the intake tube and spray the part the the air is passing through.

yeah, new MAF should fix your problem. the car won't boost if the MAF is gone. Its a safety feature to keep you from blowing your engine up.

 

you can try cleaning it by removing the MAF from the housing and using rubbing alcohol with the highest alcohol percentage you can find. I think I did mine with 93%. Put it in a zip lock with your MAF and shake it around. You dont want to use a qtip or anyhting because the small fibers can get stuck to the MAF fillaments.

 

tried cleaning it, didnt change anything. i riding up to audi to get a new maf right now. i hope this is the problem im sick of 4 psi

 

Dude, order one online. Audi is gonna charge you like $450 for that thing... I think ECS has the remanufactured ones for around $150
