Default When to do timing belt/tensioner on 3.0l B6 car?

My B6 is just under 70k on the clock. I know that the factory says the belt/tensioner are good to 105k. Anyone had any bad experiences going that long? I know the TTs don't make it much past 60k without water pump impellers cracking and tensioners failing which causes major engine damage. Anyone out there have any info?

dude i would change it NOW! No matter what people say you can never be too careful. I owned a b5 and the timing belt snapped at 66k when i was driving! It costed me a **** load of money and was a headache and a half!! It was the biggest waste of money to get it fixed (buy used head, get it rebuilt). The car never ran the same after that so I sold it right away...sorry for the guy that bought it. Anyways, get the timing belt done before you go through the same bullshit i went through!

You're 03, with the updated tensioner.

Most horror stories arethe b5's and the bad tensioner. The belts themselves rarely break.

It will last easy till 100k.

Change it at 90k if you are paranoid. Any sooner than that, and its like changing your brake pads when they are 1/3 worn out. No need to do it.

On both the TT and A4 you should be able to go 90K mi.

there is no time limit on this part as its the newer part as said but I go by rule of thumb 3 to 1 ( 3 timing belts to 1 tensioner ) but it must be checked each time a belt is changed for even the smallest movement in the bearing same as the water pump, just a guide because parts are better these days

I'd change the tensioner with every timing belt change.
