2000 A4 1.8T Quattro

The a/c compressor went out and I am replacing it, along with a new drier and orifice tube "restrictor" (as per the dealer's quasi-definition). Soooo...has anyone replaced this restrictor, or know where the orifice tube is? I don't see anything right off from the firewall side--is it under the dash? Anyone out there who could be a life saver? Thanks.

 

on the A/C lines under the cabin filter it in the left side line. its really in there so you need a needle nose plier, if your going to clean and reuse it be careful not to break it.

 

No, I don't need to reuse it, but under the cabin filter all I saw was a black box with a temp sensor in it. Which general diretion am I going from there? I'm still going at this from the engine side of the firewall, right? Am I pulling the rigid a/c lines out at the firewall?
