Whistle sounds from right side dash! ?????
I have a 2001 Audi A4 quattro. Recently, I've noticed a whistling sounds coming from the right side of the dash, only when the heat is on. It gets louder when I make left turns. I need help this sound is pissing me off. Thank you!
Behind the glove box there is a cabin air fikter to clean the air running through the vents. Pull out the glove box, remove and possibly replace the filter, feel around inside the fan houseing where you just removed the filter from looking for leaves, dead aninals or trash that may have been sucked into the motor. Most likely this is the problem.
It happens sometimes but usually those cars the customer comes in complaining of the smell first. The aninals, usually mice like the heat from the car and find thier way into the air induction.
little off topic, but once a mouse crawled inside my snowmobiles turbocharger and made its nest in the inlet side of the turbo... it got stuck there and then i started it up for the season... it didnt smell too good and it ran like crap, we had to have the guy take the whole assembly apart and clean out the turbo...
The last time I pulled one out of a blower motor for the A.C. I did it with a Shop Vac. Instead of just having a dead mouse in there maggets had started removing the mouse before I even got there. I needed a mask just to get in the car. Payed pretty good to pull out all of the air vents, blower motor and blower housing and clean them.
That whistling sound might be your weatherstripping on the wind shield's right side gone to hell.
Does it get louder as you go faster? Because mine does..
I'll post a picture tomorrow when it's sunny here, but it looks like someone ripped off the weatherstripping on the bottom of my windshield, and it makes for a nice loud ride.

It could be the ventilation fan. Remove the pollen filter , passenger
side of battery. Open all windows, fan on high , recirculation off,and spay silocone
lubricant into filter hole. Be careful , this stuff is FLAMMIBLE.
