Default Who has a good scanner?

Hey guys, I just changed out abunch of sensors; AIT, coolant temp., o2's, DV, etc.. I let the computer die overnight. I now have a CEL on (no I don't have a VAG- COM, yet, $$) but I went to advanced auto and they scanned it, but their scanner didn't ditect anything (it seemed like a cheap one). Does anyone know who has a good one to get my codes reset?

I left the battery disconnected so the ECU would reset to factory settings.

Because I just replaced some bad sensors, and I want the computer to adjust from the factory setting for the new sensors, not try to adjust back from where the bad sensors were reading.

The ecu will detect the proper/correct frequencies/readings when something bad is replaced with something good. When a sensor goes bad, the ecu isnt stuck thinking that a sensor is still bad even after you replace it with a good one. The ecu is constantly monitoring, reading and making adjustments. You should really never have to disconnect or reset the ecu unless you are getting chipped or are having major diagnostic troubles. Doing that is sort of a last resort option in most cases. A DV is not a sensor btw.

If it drives ok and the cel isnt flashing, id just drive it for about a week and see what happens. I bet the cel will turn off by itself.
Since you just reset the ecu, youll have to go through several drive cycles before the ecu will be ready for a scan w/codes. If the cel is still on this weekend, get scanned again maybe.
