OK, I picked up my '02 after replacing the rear discs/pads. The car probably stops about as well as it did before -- I never had complaints about how well my brakes worked though until I drove the '07. That thing would stop FAST, with no sliding, and with just a feather touch. By comparison, I have to step down kinda' hard on the '02 and it doesn't stop as well. I checked the sticker -- both have brake assist. Has the brake design gotten that much better since '02?

 

its not that. when was your last brake flush? flush the system, get new lines(steel) and brake fluid and it will feel like new.

 

Well, just go buy an 07, the brakes are probably better.

I would sure like to!

But seriously, probably if you did a few upgrades, you could get better braking out of your car.

Some drilled rotors front and rear, mintex pads or better, install stainless brake lines, and change the fluid. I bet your brakes improve dramatically if you did all that. (mine did!)

 

take a look at ur brakes and the new B7 A4 brakes u can really see the difference
the one B6 A4 which u have and i have they carry very crappy and small brakes

the new B7 uses the B6 S4 brake caliper which is purdy big and also uses a larger rotor then the B6 A4, thats why they have better stoppin power

u can buy new/used B6/B7 S4 brake calipers and carriers and put them on ur car if u like
or u can even get the cheaper B5 S4 brake system
