wire cut in fan, help!!
Last night everything was working perfect. When i tried starting the car this morning, it was like there wasn't enough power to turn the flywheel over. It turned slowley then the starter just started clicking. I open the hood to check out the connections to the battery. Everything is good. I noticed there was a wire wrapped around the fan clutch and caught in one of the belts. The wire had been cut. It runs between the top of the radiator and the core support along with other wires. It goes over to the driver's side between the power steering reservoir and the ABS setup. It's the only wire with the square shaped harness plug. The others are round shaped. I tried to see what it was ripped out of or cut from, no luck. I'm thinking it either connects to the alternator or the starter..? Maybe? I un-plugged the harness with what was left of the wire and put it in the car. I pushed started the car and it runs fine. Battery voltage about 14...fine. So I let the car run for about half an hour, turn it off and try to start it again. Nothing just clicking. It all comes down to the wire because everything seemed fine before it was cut. I need to know what it goes to, and what i need to do to fix it.
If anybody could point me in the right direction, your help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
