Wonderful weekend with the Audi, sort of long post.
I wanted to post a story about my weekend to attest to how much I love my Audi. I feel bad because most of the time I only post when I have a problem with my car, so I felt it was high time to post about a wonderful weekend with my car. Saturday afternoon I woke up late with my fiancé and decided that we haven’t done enough planning for our wedding and since we are getting married in Chelan, Washington we thought it would be nice to drive over there. The drive from Redmond to Chelan is ~200 miles. Because we left in the early afternoon of Saturday we did not have to deal with any traffic at all. It was a wonderful drive; I was able to cruise comfortably at 80-90 almost the entire way with the occasional burst of speed to pass slower moving traffic. It started sprinkling a little as we were going over the pass on I-90 as well as on WA-97 heading north towards US-2, for anyone familiar with the area. Even as it started to rain the car remained very stable and felt amazing even at such high speeds. The greatest thing was all the while I averaged 30+ mpg on both the trip to Chelan and then back home on Sunday. I put the car in manual mode to prevent the automatic transmission from searching for gears on up hill climbs and I never once felt like I didn’t have enough power that would force me to downshift. Overall, it was a very nice drive and weekend.
