Let me rephrase that.... A $700 turbothat is only slightly more powerful than the stock turbo is a waste of money compared to a $900 turbo that will deliver a lot more power and reliability. I would buy a used $175 k03S and run a k04 file if I wanted soemthing onlyslightly better than stock. I wont ever understand the people with 01 B5's/B6's/B7's who jump from the stockk03S to a k04. The only difference is in the tune, the turbo's are virtually the same.
What is the $900 turbo you're referring to?

Hi all,

I'm looking for a K04 turbo for my '95 A4 because my stock turbo blew the other day and I want to upgrade whilst I'm replacing it without spending much cash or without causing too much work as I'll fit it myself.

Has anyone bought one of the turbos from gpopshop? If so would you reccomend it? Is it getting the polish and port?

Can anyone suggest a better option or is anyone selling a low mileage or remanufactured K04 cheap?

Thanks in advance,

Stedders

Just buy a used ko3s. They are less than $200 and basically produce the same output. Not to mention no need for anothe $1k in mods. As for modding the turbo. The turbo is to small and doesnt flow enough for needing any of that stuff.

lol where to start...

turbo is probly glued together. uses cheap clamps instead of t-clamps. silicon connectors look like complete *** and really cheap. looks like there is a section of marine exhaust hosing in there lol. exhaust manifold will probly crack from boost out of a k03. never even seen a flange with 2 bolts. fmic is low density. piping looks really thin and cheap. there's some nice hoses and tial wg tho[8D]

The 2 flange is a tial 38mm wastegate flange. I think its funny they throw in a oil cooler and sandwich plate. Those and the piping might actually worth something
