first i noticed my "brake light" symbol was on and that i had blown a bulb in the rear passenger side brake light, so i changed the bulb and checked to make sure it worked, everything worked fine except the "brake light" light was still on so i double ckecked and they were still working. so i drove off noticing that the light went away everytime i would brake, but then come back when i released the brakes along with an annoying beep. can anybody help. 99 a6 2.8q

thanks will check it out. what do you suggest i do to correct it? anotherthing i noticed is when i turn my running lights and/or headlights on my brake lights are always on, just got pulled over for that, please let me know what you think i sould do.

 

Make sure you have the proper bulb in your car.

 

If your brake lights are always ON then you should replace the brake light switch

 

will replace brake light switch, but my brakes lights work fine when the headlights are off, but whenever i turn the headlights on thats when the brake lights stay on. ill change switch and stay posted. thanks
