Ok so I got a 2000 2.7 tq tip earlier this evening I was driving I downshifted about 3k rpm n proceeded to brake boost to see how it launched for ***** n giggles n when I let off the brake after building up boost it nearly shut the engine off it bogged so badly it isn't in great shape but I felt the urge so I went for it it drove fine after that but I didn't try power boosting anymore it scared the **** out of me cause I thought it was over lol my specs that are pertinent are as follows 149k open dp's n my o2s are about as useful as a potato in their place so any input would be helpful as I really want to build my car to greatness but every time I decide I wanna do something to upgrade my ride something stupid happens like this n I end up spending all my speed money onrrepairs( parts only I do my own work from assembly to whatever fan I can muster with my terrible lack of proper tools)

 

I don't think there's anything wrong with your car. That's just how it is with the tiptronic and drive-by-wire setups.

The car pretty much cuts the throttle when you try to brake boost. I attempted the same thing while waiting for a red light to turn green. Eyes widened up reaaal huge when I realized I wasn't getting any throttle response, lol.

Slightly confused by your post, though. You downshifted then held both the brakes and throttle while in motion?

 

Yup, this is normal when applying throttle and hitting the brakes at the same time.
