Posting this for my dad, he uses a 1.8t A6 '98 for work and it's just had a turbo replaced, before that and now it's using about a litre of oil every 1000 miles. Some people have said it's normal for them to use oil but i find this hard to believe as my A4 1.8t hasn't used any atall in 6k miles.

Anybody have any ideas on where it could be going? It doesn't smoke unless you accelerate very hard and it's not leaking underneath, he runs 10w40 semi in it.

 

you can get a A6 with a 1.8t that must be justa total dog way to big a car for that motor

 

It's not to bad really, the car isn't alot heavier than the A4, it's good round town etc that's why he uses it for work gets good mpg, well on fuel atleast not oil.
