1996 A6 no heat

1996 A6 no heat

I have a 96 A6 with 130000 miles on it and I was driving to NH and my heat stopped working. The blower works fine, the a/c works fine and a little bit of heat comes out but not much. Can any one help?

Wheres the temp guage on the needle? You have coolant right?

The temp gage is a little above cold when driving and goes to about 1/2 way when at idle

it sounds like a thermostat to me. Should be at 1/2 while driving and stay there while at idle.
