Default 1999 a6 2.8 auto heater core problem

Hi,

I have an Audi A6 (C5) 2.8AUTO 1999.

Can anyone tell me where the heater core (matrix) is located as I dont get any hot air from the heating/climate control and seem to get a bit of a funny smell when the heating is on. From reading the forums it seems that clogging of the heater core is common so want flush it or maybe replace if necessary

Thanks in advance

C

The heater core is buried up under the dashboard, which has to be removed to replace the core. Flushing is easy as the heater hoses are relatively easy to get to, but replacing the heater core is a chore.

Good luck,

Bob
