1999 A6 2.8 Won't start (Cranks, but no fuels pump, windows, etc)
Hey everyone,
I have a 99 2.8 A6 with 140k on it. I drove it a few nights ago with no problems until I started it to go home and it wouldn't start.
It cranks (serpintine belt turns too), but will not start.
Been diagnosing it today and so far I have -
No spark (tested from wires),
no power to fuel pump,
no power windows,
no gauge lights (voltmeter doesn't move when key is turned),
the battery is in perfect shape, had a full charge when this happened too.
Everything else in the car works (radio, locks, lights), I haven't checked the HVAC system yet though.
I've been looking over the wiring diagrams trying to find any relays that would do this, but not having much luck. Thanks for ANY advice on this.

Could be. My symptoms weren't intermittenent, but I suppose it could be.
To test the switch I had to remove the steering wheel and the bottom cover of the steering column. My issue was caused by the number 15 pin on the switch. You can test them all with a test light while putting the key in different positions. I can post the correct results you should see if you're interested.
Hope this helps! Goodluck. Also, I needed a 12point 12mm internal spline bit to remove the steering wheel. Just a heads up before you take the wheel off
