Default 1999 A6 30V 2.8L - MAF Issue

Hi

I've googled this to the inth degree but not finding any concrete answers

- MAF codes appears two weeks ago, low maf signal code, running rich codes, odd rpm shifting behaviour

- Bought Ebay generic MAF, No running right codes, no low signal codes, but I have issues with the car stalling while idling, starting and driving at low speeds. Transmission has gone into limp mode a couple of times

- Re did all the vac lines over the weekend to make sure no vac leaks.

- I can make the car stall in Park just by lightly hitting the throttle.

- Disconnect MAF and Idle is Perfect and I cannot make the car stall at all.

- No codes, even with new generic MAF

Do you think that I should've bought a proper genuine MAF? Or do you think I should be troubleshooting something else?

Thank you for your input

Ok Here is the Answer

DON'T buy the cheap ebay MAFs.

I bought the proper Hitachi OE replacement and all problems went away.
