Default 2.8 v6 oil leak

hi,
i am a new member from scotland and i am looking for some help ,i have a small oil leak at the oil filter housing it seems to be coming from the seam of the square shaped part of the housing where it meets the round part that the oil filter screws on too, does it split here and is there a seal there,if so what is the name of the seal and some info on how to replace it,it is definatlly not leaking at the filter.

When did this start did you just buy the car, have you had it for a while, do you do the oil changes

If the filter was ever over tightened when you go to remove it the housing could turn along with the filter and tear the seal there

Just tell them its the seal were the filter housing mounts to the block

I would spary it down and check for leaks again. There is a seal behind the oil cooler housing that seals it to the block. That can be replaced. I think audi calls it the oil cooler o ring. Its possible that the oil cooler is leaking at the seam (In which case you would need a new oil cooler), but i would make sure its not the seal first. May even want to try and replace the seal first and see if that fixes it.
