2000 2.7t what offset for wheels.
So I am going back and fourth with a few places. TSW says that on a 18x8 wheel I can get away with a 32mm offset. My guys I usually work with say 45mm is the only way.
Whats the scoop. Or, does it really depend on style? This is a really just a sleeper commuter so I would like to stay under a grand. Any thoughts on what to roll on. Thanks Much...

Hey, I have a 2000 2.7. I have 18x8.5 wheels with a 35mm offset. I have to use 5mm spacers to get them to clear the front rotors. I got them from Eibach and they came with longer lug bolts for about $72 a set. Good Luck.

35mm is usually a good offset but it depends on your brake set up & the rim for example. I have had BBS Ck's in 35 which worked great and had the wheels right at the edge of the fenders, and my current BBS RSGT's are 38, they sit a little IN the fenders. No clearance issue.

I am putting 37mm offset 16" steel (winter) wheels on my 2003 A6 2.7T quattro. I expect they will fit no problem. I will do this in a few days and if a problem develops I will report back. Also, theory seems to suggest that quattro vehicles do better with less offset while front drive models like more offset such as 45 to 55mm.

I emailed TSW and got back this reply for one of their current wheels.
18x8 (fronts) +32
18x9.5(rears)+20...I am a bit skeptical on this one.
I know the manager at my local Discount Tire really well and if the rears don't fit correctly, he'll make sure I get the correct offset.

Discount tire would not order the 45s like I asked so we got 32's im. Going into try on the new shoes Saturday. My guess is that they won't work. Im kinda ticked they are making me prove this to them.
