this could be due to a bad thermostat. vag-com your car and see what codes come up, but i'm pretty sure you have a bad thermostat. your needle needs to be dead in the middle unless you have a performance oil cooler.

take it to autozone or somewhere similar and they can scan your car for codes for free. for the t-stat i think you'll need to remove the timing belt to get to it or at least the passenger side of the timing belt.

Thanks, I didn't know autozone could check it free!!
Damn... Removing timing belt? sounds like 2 much 4 me to even try! Lol if that's what it is them I'll just do a complete timing belt, tensioners, water pump, etc. I was thinking of doing it around 170k miles anyway. I just can't do it now$$ :-(

yeah it is a bitch and i did mine when i did my t-belt job. go to ecs or blauparts to get the t-belt kit. vast might have a good one as well, unless there special is over. get the best one possible. if youre having someone else do it(a shop) dont get the one with the cam-locking tool, so you can save some cash. you wanna replace as much as possible while doing the t-belt. i suggest getting a new/rebuilt starter and alternator while in there and a new fan clutch. i'm in the midst of an engine pull right now so i'm just naming off some of the things i'm doing while its out and i have room to work on it.

i know this **** gets CRAZY expensive so i'd learn to wrench as soon as possible!

Took it to autozone n got this codes: P1690, P1296 guy told it has to do with d coolant sensornot being plug right n open circuit, I don't know what d hack? I'm gonna dobble check everything once again maybe I messed up d wires while pulling d clip fron d old sensor? He said that if needle is not moving at all that where d problem is. mine does not move one bit! So here we go again n I can't figure it out I guess I'll just wait 2 months n do d timing belt etc, n let them figure it out :-(

I tell u what tho even tho my car is 11 years long it still drives like a champ!!

Strange ... make sure both ends of coolant temp sensor sit properly and the old black O-ring is out, the plastic clip is clicked in.
