Default 2000 A6 2.7t not starting

First off, I am new here and I do not currently own an Audi. I am looking at buying the A6 listed in the post title. It has 190k miles. I couldnt tell you how it was maintained other than religious oil changes. The person is selling the car cheap because he is tired of seeing the car sitting in his yard. The story is, he was driving it one day, the car was running fine. He drove to a friend's house, parked the car, went inside for a while. Came out to start the car and it wouldn't start. He said before a this happened, it ran fine. No codes, no funny idle, nothing like that. He towed the car home, and there it had sat. I went over today to try my luck at starting It. I plugged in a scan tool and like 10 codes came up. I cleared the codes and tried to start it. Nothing. The car just cranks. Every now and again it would serge like it wanted to start but still nothing. I checked the codes again. This time it showed 2 codes, 17746 and 17799. 17746 is camshaft sensor open circuit short to battery, 17799 is camshaft sensor short to ground. 17746 was bank 1, 17799 was bank 2. Does anyone have any idea and would this cause the vehicle not to start?

There are a million things that could cause an OOOO 2.7T not to start. The fix could be cheap and easy, or expensive. Smart money says run.
