Default 2000 A6 2.7t Passenger window

I'm thinking my passenger window might need a new motor but someone was telling me it may be a regulator. Window rolls down perfectly. I have a problem getting it to go back up. It will roll up fine until it gets halfway and then it starts to go real slow. Sometimes it jerks iself back down. I had to physically roll it up with along with the window switch the other night as it went all the way down. Anyone else ever have this problem?

its probably neither, it sounds like a common problem due to the cable retaining clip breaking that guides the window back up.

Sounds good. I'll do a search on it.

Thanks

Its the regulator, thake the door panel off and you will see it right away. I jimmy rigged mine so you should be able to get it.

I have the same problem with the window, and in the same door (passenger front doorin right hand drive car)the central locking is very intermittent. All the locks and windows in the other doors work perfectly. I have to leave the passenger door locked all the time, otherwise the remote locking system doesn't work.
It seems too much of a coincidence that these problems happened at the same time in the same door. Is there a connector plug / voltage regulator that could cause these problems?
