I'm just ready to install my freshly rebuilt transmission when I priced out a replacement rear main seal. I typically would do this to any vehicle if the transmission is out anyways, but the $275 cost for the seal assembly itself is making me re-think my habits.

Has anyone actually had an rear main seal leak on a 4.2L? The car is a 2000 and has 95K miles on it.
