Default 2000 A6 ABS Brake light on and check engine

I last week had my the ABS/Brake light with 3 beeps come up on my A6. My independent Audi guys gave me a Vag error code of 01203 short or cluster malfunction and they do not do clusters so I took the car home. They could not erase the error code.

I plan to send the cluster to module masters as a new one at the dealer is 1375.00.

The code indicates short between abs and cluster or cluster failure. The cluster has been bad (pixels) for a year or so.

1) Yesterday check engine light came on. I just got my code reader and it shows Main Cat efficiency below threshold bank 1 and bank 2. I reset codes but engine light remains on.

2) The only other engine code was Rough Road Spec. Engine Torque ABS-SG Electrical malfunction.

1) Replace Cats? If so what is the best option?
2) Is this the abs coming on with the beeps?

Thanks

Mike

ABS light and rough road sounds like ABS module. Modulemasters can help you there as well. They rebuilt mine, and its been flawless.

I had a similar problem with the ABS/Brake light. I sent it to AutoECU and they repaired the faulty gold wire connection that typically causes the ABS/Brake light to come on with those three beeps. If you are confident with taking the ABS module out of the car like so, then they will charge you $75 to do this.

The cat problem could just be cheap winter gas (too much alcohol in it). I get the O2 sensor threshold error if I buy gas at certain gas stations but not a some others.

Are you able to drive the car once the module has been removed?

You absolutely can drive the car without its abs module. Every time you start it up it will give you the three beeps and flash the abs and brake lights. You will not be able to use a vag com to troubleshoot your abs system which your module is out tho.

I got the same cat errors and the ABS intermittent/no communication error. I cleared the cat codes along with all other code errors but the ABS intermittent/no communication stuck. Just sent the ABS to module masters and replaced about 8 months ago. Can't imagine the module would have failed this quickly considering their reputation.

Sounds like it could be a wheel speed sensor. I know that was a pretty common problem with the c5 platform and they might offer free replacements; can't remember tho.
