Default 2002 A6 - Turn Signal Nightmare

Hello all! I just drove a 500 mile round trip and noticed that my turn signals aren't working.

I turn them on, the blink once and then nothing happens. My hazards work fine, and I replaced the fuse even though it seemed fine.

I've read here that this may be the Hazard Relay switch going out, but I never heard the apparently tell-tale clicking that everyone refers to in the threads I found on this forum via a serach.

Can anyone verify that this part should fix my issue? It sounds like the same problem, and I'm thinking maybe I just didn't hear the clicking due to the long drive during which I played music the entire time.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Ian

Thanks for the reply! I'll go ahead and pick up that part. Not sure why I used the word Nightmare in the subject - certainly hasn't been an ongoing problem. I guess historically with my Audi's everything's a nightmare when something goes wrong ;-)

Or you can save money by opening it up and cleaning the indicator contacts inside, mine went out a few months ago. Removed it cleaned it and it has not given me any problems since.

Thanks, I think I'll try that first. It occured to me a few moments ago that while waiting for my girlfriend I decided to clean the interior realy quick using cleaning wipes. Interesting that right after I cleaned the whole dash area this started misbehaving. I wonder if they two were related? Anyway, thanks again for the replies

You may possibly need to flush your blinker fluid...

haha. I just took the thing apart, cleaning didn't work but I can see that my cleaning of the dashboard was probably not hte cause of failure ;-)
