Default 2003 A6 2.7T questions.

This is my first Audi as well as the first European car and I have a couple of questions.
1.The gas pedal feels as if though there is a sponge under it..compared to a Nissan and Mazda with the same mileage the pedal seems really "stiff" and the brake pedal too...is that normal?
2.The brake pedal "feel" does not seem linear....pedal pressure seems high...then low..then high as I brake is that normal?
3.I has 18" wheels and 40 series tires...ride seems rough...would going back to the stock 17" and 45 series tires make a difference in improving the ride?

The A6 has ~ 40k on it,Sport Package ....it was CPO'd about an hour before I purchased it..so I think a few items on the check list could have been missed...so far I have noticed a rear window sticking and a lot of wheel/front end vibration above 65 MPH....so in a week or two I plan to take it bck and have those problems corrected....I also noticed the upper left of the middle LCD display has several dead pixels. [&o]

1. The gas pedal is normal. When I drive my sister's mazda 6 the gas pedal is diffenitely harder to press at the top.
2. The brake pedal not feeling linear I believe is because they are floatingcaliperson the front. (might have only been the HP2 calipers but I think ATE's are too). Some one else can probably explain this better.
3. I had the stock BBS 17" wheels (in sig pic)with a 45 series tire beforeswitching to 18's (no pic yet) with a 40 series tire. I didn't notice that bigof a difference, butin theory more sidewall equals softer ride.
4. When/If you switch back to the 17's have them hunter road force balanced and get an alignment. That should take care of your vibration.
5. Only way to fix the dead pixels is to replace the entire instrument cluster. Expensive from the dealer and not worth it until the entire display is dead in my opinion.

Thanks for the information...the reason I noticed the rough ride is because in Southern CA quite a lot ofthe Freewaywas made using concrete slabs that originally were put too close to each other and over time the ends curled up...so with a Sport Suspension,40 series tires....I feel as if though I am on a vibrating bed. [:@]
