I recently bought a 2006 Audi A6 that was hit in the front and just finished the collision Work but then I realized that I can only start the car half the time. I have been researching this, and people have been saying that i would need to take the car to the Audi dealer and i would need to change the complete steering column and get the key reprogrammed. I have access to another Audi A6 that needs a Motor, so would I just be able to Take the steering Column,ignition and what else? to avoid spending money at the dealer. I would appreciate everyone's response

 

If its the same make and model I'd say yes but that doesn't sound like your issue sounds more like a faulty computer I may be wrong though electric is definitely not one of my strings in auto or it can be a faulty sensor prob... ie crank or cam or ur timing can be a lil outta place.
