I've got a new 2008 A6. I've noticed that when the temp gets colder the brakes squeak at slow speeds. It's pretty annoying. Questions:
- Is this common?
- What can be done about it?

I've noticed it mostly when the temps are below 30 or so.

The brakes on my '01 A6 don't squeak even a temps below 0 F, and none my 4 other Audis did either. Must be new feature of '08 models. Take it to the dealer when it's cold out.

 

There is a TSB on the squeaking brakes. I am sure the dealer is aware of it. Check out ebahn's website if you want a copy of the TSB.

 

Good to know that mine is not the only one !

I bought an 08' A6, 4.2L, Auto, premium and other bells and whislesin December-07. The brakes do squeak when it is colder out I have noticed. At least, that is what I figured it to be. Today, it was 52 degrees and no squeak on my way to work. I will ask the dealer to check it out when I am there next week.

This is my 4th Audi and I can say, that I have NEVER had a brake squeak before.
