Hi everyone

can someone please help me my 2000 1.8T manual has developed a fault from stand still the car just doesn't accelerate its like starting off in 4th gear and when it does eventually pick up when i change gear it looses all its power once its going if i take my foot off the accelorater and back on again there seems to be a major dead spot and then i get a burst of power!!!!!

please help as I'm getting left behind by boy racers in their 1000cc cars any comments will be appreciated thank you

 

Check the a4 forums as the engine in their cars is almost identical to the one in your car. Sounds like you have some sort of turbo issue. Like a boost leak, sticking wastegate, failed wastegate control solenoid etc.

i'll have a look through the a4 forum see if someone else has had the problem. will let you know if i find out
