A6 2.7 Turbo Issue

If so, search turbo replacement, blown turbo, bad turbo...etc and you will find a plethora of information.
It is a very time induced process to replace turbos. The engine needs to be pulled and time is money.
Ball park $5-7k

I'm not looking forward to turbo failure (currently at 143k), but if it happens and the the body and drivetrain are still in excellent shape, a stage 3 kit will cost around $5k plus installation. That ups the hp from 318 to 400-450. Here's just one site I googled....

If you shop around a piece your own kit together stage 3 can be done for 4k, if you are mechanically inclined it only takes about 4.5 hours to pull the motor, another 2 to remove and install the turbo's, with correct torque specs. Another 4 hours to put it back together. If you are using a shop then depending on location expect labour to run you 1.5k to 3k. I am not sure of your budget, but if you are taking it to a shop, check the forums for advice on a good indy that has experience with the 2.7t.
