A6 2.7TT Gas Milage Issue
I am new to this Forum and hoping someone can shed some light on their gas mileage experiences with this model.
The posted mileage on the dealer sticker is 18 city and 24 highway, which is in line with my expectations for a V6. We have saved every receipt since purchasing this car 14 months ago and are getting 14 MPG in city and 18-20 MPG on the highway. I'd like to believe I'm heavy footed, but it is not the case. Whether I drive aggressively or conservatively, the mileage stays the same. The dealer cites that the mileage is within the low end of the range, claimed to have check everything and essentially brushed me off. Is anyone aware of computer, fuel injector, or turbo tuning options to fix this situation? This is the first car I have ever encountered that did not meet or exceed their posted mileage ratings and it is very disturbing
If you have any insight please let me know ... thx, DUANE

There is a button on the end of your wiper lever that toggles the display on the dash. You could actually find out what the MPG burn is at any given time. I tend to burn more gas at idle than when driving. At idle that reading shows 19mpg. When driving sometimes I see readings spiking as high as 52 mpg. I usually am not a led foot driver. I usuall get into 5th gear at 40 mph plus. So I think my average mpg burn is definitely higher that 24 mpg.
I've seen under acceleration mpg readings in third gear somwhere around 9 mpg. The thing is the spikes average out. So if you drive aggressively all the time you are obviously burning a lot of gas. Those two turbos are unforgiving in that respect.
