Assist w/troubleshooting '03 A4 stereo issue
Hey all,
I've been having problems with the bose system in my A4. Common thread seems to be the amps go, but it seems like other's problems are slightly different than mine.
My volume, when turned to 30 (full) is very quiet. As in, I can barely hear it running at 55. If I overdrive the input signal, such as running an ipod into the tape deck with the signal turned up high the stereo starts cracking... LOUDLY. Really really loudly.
So, its probably either the HU or the amp, leaning towards the amp due to other's issues. Has anyone else had this issue?
If I do replace the amp, it appears as if the sub unit can all stay in place and I can just get an older amp of ebay? Is there variation in the amp units? Could I replace with a multichannel amp from another manufacturer, and if so, how many channels would I need?
Thanks!
