I have a 2003 A6 Avant 3.0 with a strange problem. I'll give as much detail as I can but, in a nutshell, it has stopped accepting the programming of the remote controllers and so I have to lock and unlock the car with the key.

Other information:
Bought the car used and all locks / keys worked
After a while, it started to forget one or more of the keys about every couple of weeks. No big deal as I know the re-programming sequence (key, lock door, press etc.) I became quite adept at doing it and did so successfully on several occasions. But, after the last time, it no longer works. I put the key in the ignition. Lock the doors with another key and push the button but the lights no longer flash as they used to and it just will not accept programming.

Other information - because who knows what is relevant.
- The A/C works but resets to C instead of F every time we turn the car off
- The memory seats have never worked
