Ok, here's a screwball question I figure I already know the answer to, but I'd love to be wrong. Have a c-navi system in my 01' A6. Of course, I only have one CD for it, and now that I'm going to be doing a bit of traveling, I'd like to get the rest of the disks for this part of the country. So, in poking around, I found what most of you already knew: Audi went over to DVD's in 2004 or so. Is there any way to retrofit a DVD from a later Audi into the system? Or, as I suspect is the case, would have system have no idea what to do with a DVD player?

Just curious, 'cause carrying around 1 dvd sounds a whole lot easier than 12 CD's. And they're still updating the DVD's too.

 

No you can't do it unless you switched all of the components to the newer DVD based system.
