My owners manual says that burned out light bulbs (especially those in the front of the car) should be replaced by the dealer because they're too hard to get to by the owner.

One of my amber sider marker (turn signal?) lights (on the passenger side front bumper) has burned out and I can't see how to get to it from the engine compartment without at least removing some ducting in that area.

Is it true that the most bulbs can't be replaced from the outside?

If so, is there a guide as to how to get to them from the inside?
