A6 Failed ignition coil & exhaust temp sensor
I had to get my '03 A6 towed to a dealer because it was miss-firing and the check engine light was flashing. When I got to the dealer thay said that one of my ignition coils failed and my exhaust temperature sensor was not reading right.
Of course they suggested having all 6 coils replaced + the sensor for $950!!!!
Replacing 6 coils would be $450.
I am looking for some advice on what I should do.
Should I really replace all 6 coils, or would 1 be enough (I am worried another would fail soon)
What about the sensor. Is this really crucial?
It is a 2003 2.7T 87K+

coils last a very long time so only the bad one needs replacing, did they do a fault code check? if not they are guessing and the cost will somersault so be aware get them to do a scan and give you the codes then post them here
