Default A6 intermittently pulls right.

I just bought a 2005 A6 3.2 Quatro with 73,000miles.

Two questions:

When I'm driving it most of the time it goes straight even if I don't have any hands on the wheel. Occasionaly it pulls right for a few seconds. Could this be the road that I'm driving on or perhaps a sticking brake caliper?

Also, I looked in the maintenance manual and I saw where most of the other Audi models have a timing belt that they recommend replacing at 75,000. It never mentions the A6 3.2. What gives? Does this car have a timing belt that needs to be replaced?

Per Kevin's info from a diff thread, all 2005's 3.2L came with a timing chain.

As per your pull, you can check alignment, control arm bushings, ball joints.
If you don't hear any "rubbing" or "grinding" noise while rolling, then you can eliminate a sticking caliper or dust shield touching the rotor.

Unless you tap your brakes and then notice a pulling, I doubt it is the brakes. If you are on a straight and "level" stretch of highway, will it track straight on it's own for a couple 10ths of a mile (hands off)? If so, I suspect the road has a depression in it from truck traffic that is pulling the car. The A6 has wide tires that seem to catch these easily, although my lighter Crossfire with wider tires does it more frequently.

The 05 3.2 has a timing chain. Please keep in mind that the 75K service is the major service on the 3.2.

Thanks for the help guys. I had the shop check it out and they couldn't find anything so I'm guessing it is the road. It happens mostly on a road that has frequent bus traffic so I'm guessing it's pretty "rutted" out.
