Default ABS pump runs when applying the brakes

Hey there,

This car is really starting to screw with me, 2001 A6 Avant, 2.8 Quattro.

I have a brake pad light now, and while applying the brakes just before I come to a complete stop, I can feel it in the pedal and hear the ABS Pump running.

Spooky feeling and I need to figure out what could cause this.

Thank You!!

Do you have the sign that look likes (O) where the parenthesis are dashed?

If so, you most likely that your pads are worn. I would replace the pad and clean the ABS sensor.

I had this same problem and it is a general ABS problem (for ANY vehicle). Chances are the abs sensor is just dirty. Take off your wheel (and replace your pads!!), pull out the sensor (pressure fitted), clean, and put back in.

The pads are worn light is on, but the pads don't look that thin. I'll check those sensors to see what's up with them.

Thanks
